Professor Arvind Lal Bhatia - Editor-in-Chief
Prof. Arvind Lal Bhatia is a Humboldt
Awardee, the recipient of a prestigious Honour of German Government. He
has had throughout a Ist Class career as a student and has also been awarded
Diploma in German language from Goethe Institute, Bonn, Germany in 1989. He
has been a visitor of several national and International laboratories and
has worked in Nuclear Research Centres, of Germany for about 2 years (March
1989-February 91) and Belgium (Sept, 92- August 93) for about one year,
respectively.
He has been conferred with several
fellowships, honours and awards, nationally and internationally. He
has been internationally known for his work on tritium (pollutant, a
radio active isotope of hydrogen released from natural and man made
sources) and its impact assessment. Having several research papers
and review articles to his credit on this research and being an
authority on this subject, a CD Rom has also been released
comprising his work too, from Belgium with renowned radioecologist,
Prof. Rene Kirchmann.
He has an exposure of work in various
laboratories on “Transplantation in Brain Regions” in Central
Institute for Brain Research, Amsterdam; 1983, as well as of
training programmes like International Summer School on Radioecology
organized by ECC, Belgium, 1990’ in International Workshop on
Radiation Health Effects at Low Doses or Low Dose Rates, GSF
Research Center for Environment and Health, Institute of Radiation
Protection, Neuherberg, Germany, 16 – 18 February 2004. He has also
been trained in neurobiology by International Brain Research
Organization. He has been a member of various selection committees
of different Universities and Banking Service Recruitment Board.

Contribution to the Society
Prof. Bhatia has been consistently espousing the cause of
popularization of science among the masses. He is frequently invited
for lectures in refresher, orientation courses and creating the
scientific awareness amongst masses through media also by writing
articles in Hindi and English. He has been dispensed with the duties
of organizer/ Resource Person/ Chairpersons/ Convener in various
Conferences/Summer Schools/Refresher Courses.

higher secondary classes including 2 books as invited authors by the
Board of Secondary Education, Rajasthan
• Authored 15 books in Hindi and English for undergraduate and
postgraduate classes which also include 2 books awarded by
Government of India.
• Authored several small books in Hindi and English for the literacy
programme and adult education.
